 Beginning in 1970 Moonwater Australian Shepherds was just a glimmer in our eyes. After finding a beautiful, older Australian shepherd pup, named Greckle, that glimmer became a reality. Our original stock came from a solid background and kept our land well protected and loved. Our aussies backpacked, skied, kayaked, swam, horse rode, and loved us for many years. They raised two boys and brought us many hours of work and laughter. Puppies, therapy work and happy homes were just small parts of our kennel.  Over the years we have bred many wonderful litters. We have bred with some of the best. CH. Moonlight's Must Be Magic HOF sired two of our litters creating some of the best Australian Shepherd pups around. We have placed at the ASCA Nationals, won multiple BOB's, High Point Aussies in Obedience, many years of winning ASCSDC Best Class Bitch, Class Dog, Altered Class Bitch and Dog, Best Puppy, and Champion Bitch; as well as SNAC Best Class and Champion Bitch honors. Not to mention, ribbons in Agility, Obedience, and Herding, winning multiple trick contests with multiple dogs, and 4-H Honors in showmanship, obedience and therapy work.
We also are extremely proud of the consistently even temperament, brains and good looks of our seven certified assistance/service dogs, school facility dogs, and certified therapy dogs from our kennel. Our dogs work with adults and children with Tourette's syndrome, multiple sclerosis (MS), severe seizure disorder, mobility difficulties, advanced diabetes, depression, grief, learning disabilities, and much more. They service the elderly, abused women and children and other local centers. Moonwater aussies lift the spirits and souls of everyone that comes into contact with one of our stock.
